America couldn’t break their winless streak and ties 2-2 against Queretaro

Las Aguilas del America hosted the dark horse of the Apertura 2019, Los Gallos Blancos de Queretaro. On a good game with a lot of action since the start, Los Azulcremas couldn’t leave their bad streak behind, they haven’t won a game since Agust 17th.

Queretaro opened the scoring at minute 30 when Fabian Castillo, on a beautiful breakthrough from the left-wing and a 1-2 combination with Arnaud Loboa, scored the first goal to give Los Gallos the advantage.

America responded right away and tied the game 1-1 courtesy of Henry Martin. On a rebound Henry took advantage of the opportunity and beat the goalkeeper Gil Alcala to the ball, putting it in the bottom right corner of the net.

Both teams kept the game intense and were going back and forth but the goalkeepers were at their best stopping everything that came their way.

Henry Martin did it again at minute 78 and put the ball in the back of the net on a breakthrough that started at the center of the field, leaving two defenders behind, and reaching all the way into the box, this time putting his team ahead 2-1.

The home team couldn’t retain their advantage and Queretaro responded just as quickly as they did on the first half, when 1 minute after, Jesus Escoboza scored the equalizer for Los Gallos Blancos.

America remains winless for 5 consecutive weeks and remains in 5th place at the end of this game. Las Aguilas will play el Super Clasico of Liga MX in Week 11.

Queretaro continues to show that they’re a strong contender for the remainder of Liga MX and take 1 point out of Estadio Azteca. They are ranked at 3rd place and will face Necaxa in week 11.
