America defeats Tigres 3-1 to punch its ticket to the Liga MX Liguilla.
With the steady play of Sebastián Córdova, the Eagles flew to 2nd place on the Liga MX table and secured their place in the Liguilla. America took advantage of its home status and defeated Tigres 3-1 who were condemned to the Repechage. America sealed its direct ticket to the next round and on the last day, it will try to stay in second place that will benefit it in the Liguilla with a more comfortable rival.
Nahuel Guzmán did it again, the Argentine made one of the mistakes he usually makes, and in his eagerness to guess and anticipate a play, Sebastián Córdova surprised him with a shot to his post when the logical play seemed to be to put in the center, and thus open the score in the final stretch of the first half.
This game did not go without controversy as in the 58th minute Las Aguilas appeared to have a taken a 2-0 lead, but that goal was nullified after it appeared to have crossed the goal line. However after the play was reviewed, the goal was removed and the score stood at 1-0
Subsequently, Emanuel Aguilera increased the lead with a header ten minutes from end to silence the criticism against him. André Gignac cut the distance 2-1 when it seemed that they would go blank and with a few minutes on the stopwatch, he made the Azulcrema team tremble. At times America was overcome and locked in their court. But in a play of the highest level due to the way he defined, Córdova returned the calm to América with a great goal by putting the ball over Nahuel to seal the victory.
