America’s Winless Streak Continues, Draw at Bravos

America was able to rescue a draw late in Juarez and kept their winless streak going. Las Aguilas have now drawn in 5 of their last 6 Liga Mx games. This streak has not knocked America out of a playoff spot yet, but teams are lurking to take America’s spot in the Liguilla.

Juarez got on the score sheet early via recently acquired Diego Roldan. Mauro Fernandez crossed a ball from the right wing that found Roldan, who spiked the ball with a header that beat Paco Memo Ochoa.

America had a clear opportunity to answer just a minute later, but Gio Dos Santos’ shot screamed past the far post.

America was a finally able to equilize the score in the 85th minute via Federico Viñas. Viñas took a pass from Henry Martin near the top of the box and placed a left footed shot past Ivan Vazquez.

The tie makes it more than a month since America’s last win, that win coming against Morelia on August 17th. Las Aguilas will look to break this streak when they host Chivas in the Super Clasico on Saturday.

Bravos will try and get a similar or better result on Saturday as well when they visit the red hot Rayos de Necaxa.
