America showed a different level during tonight’s game with many absences from their main squad due to injuries and player transfers. The home team struggled to connect, as they kept losing the ball and couldn’t keep up with the pressure from Monarcas.

Miguel Herrera had no choice but to make an early substitution in the 34th minute that changed the game completely. Nicolas Benedetti went in for Leonel Lopez, strengthening the midfield and eventually being the hero of the match.

It was until the 80th minute where Roger Martinez took the ball inside the box, giving the ball to Benedetti, finishing with a strike that was almost blocked by Sebastian Sosa, but the ball still made its way into the net.

America currently leads the table but could lose it to Santos or Queretaro during tomorrow’s games if one of them is victorious.
