Chivas and Pumas split points in week 13th

After their victory over Correcaminos in Copa MX, Chivas came into this game with a boost of confidence. Chivas and Pumas split points in an intense game at Akron Stadium in front of over 30 thousand people.

Los Tapatios started the match with high intensity and took their first shot on goal at minute one via Alexis Vega who shot from outside the 18th yard but the ball went too wide.

At minute 37 Alan Pulido gave the advantage to the home team via penalty kick, after a very controversial foul that Pulido himself drew. The referee Jorge Rojas reviewed the play in VAR.

Alan Pulido reached his seventh goal of the season and put himself in 3rd place on the season goal scoring list.

After the goal the game fell into a casual Chivas vs Pumas game, at times intense but with little action. Chivas had a slight advantage on the ball possession but no clear goal opportunities.

At minute 74, the referee made another controversial decision when he sent off Alexis Vega with a red card.

Chivas was left with 16 minutes to defend their advantage with a man down. Los Tapatios were close to succeeding but Carlos Gonzales scored a golazo in stoppage time.

Guadalajara is not officially eliminated from playoffs but they would literally would need a miracle to make it.

As for Pumas, they are in Liguilla zone with 18 points in 8th place at the end of this game.
