Chivas bad streak continues as they fall to Pachuca.
Pachuca visited Chivas for round 11 of Liga MX. After a win against Xolos, Pachuca came with the ambition to beat the home team. Chivas was looking to take advantage of their home presence to surpass “Los Tuzos”.
The game began with a clear dominance from “Los Tuzos” . Due to a defensive error on behalf of the home team, Pachuca received the first chance for a goal. A penalty was called and at minute 17 Franco Jara opened the scoreboard. The home team continued to pressure a Pachuca that slowly lost ball possession as the first half progressed. At minute 45 Isaac Brizuela took advantage of a rebound by Pachuca’s goalkeeper and gave “El Chiverio” the first goal of the night.
Chivas returned the second half with the most ball possession. The second goal of the night came for las Chivas at minute 55. With an assist by “La Chofis Lopez” to Alan Pulido, “El Chiverio” put themselves ahead of the scoreboard. Even though the home team kept pushing to score another goal, Pachuca covered their spaces very well and Chivas struggled to get past them.
Before we knew it, Pachuca attacked with an assist by Rubens Sambueza at minute 70 which Victor Guzman was able to push into the net, tying the match. The intensity rose and Chivas lost the rhythm of the game. Another defensive error by Chivas gave Pachuca another opportunity for a goal. Franco Jara went past the defender and obtained his second goal of the night. The frustration for Chivas was evident, as they began to miss shots, quickly lose the ball and continued committing errors. A bad exit by goalkeeper Raul Gudino and a confused defense gave Pachuca the fourth goal. Edwin Cardona scored at minute 90 finalizing Pachuca’s win over Chivas. Four errors and four goals against the home team. “Los Tuzos” take the three points home putting them in playoff spot, for now. “El Rebano” moves to the 14th spot in the table giving them a disadvantage against their next rival, Las Aguilas del America.
