Chivas fall 2-1 at home to Necaxa

Necaxa upset Chivas 2-1 in Akron stadium earning their first road win in the last matchup of Week 6.

Chivas had a poor defensive and offensive performance in the first half.

Los Rayos took advantage and were able to take the lead in the 11th minute with a strong left shot by Maxi Salas. The young Argentinan striker is now tied with José Juan Macías from León as leading scorers, both with five goals in the tournament.

At the 40th minute, Chilean winger Luis Gallegos volleyed the ball scoring a ‘golazo’.

Chivas kicked off the second half with a more offensive attack.

A goal from Villalpando from inside the box would put Boy’s men back in the game.

Chivas was unable to tie the game despite the confidence showed in second half.

Necaxa rise up to the 5th position in the standings and will face Los Diablos on Wednesday.
