Chivas vs America part 2 highlight Liga MX Round 11

We enter the home stretch of La Liga MX as Round 11 gets set to get underway. We can see who the real contenders are at the top of the table, while the fourth through tenth place teams all fight to stay atop the elite eight where one game can severely change the standings. La Semana of Clásico’s never disappoints as we get set for the rematch of El Super Clásico Nacional between Las Aguilas del America and Guadalajara plus El Clásico Hidalguense between Cruz Azul and Los Tuzos de Pachuca Saturday night.

Many spectators could not wait for El Clasico Nacional in Copa MX this past Wednesday. It seemed as if both Chivas and America were already looking ahead before either of them played their last game in the league. Los Azulcremas looked like the more desperate team as Guadalajara seemed to lack any urgency and failed to find what had made them successful thus far.

Las Aguilas were the better team throughout the game keeping the pressure on until the final seconds, Jair Pereira failed to clear the ball, and Nico Benedetti took advantage and made it 2-0 for the home team. Benedetti went on to say that they could’ve trashed Guadalajara.

After the loss, Pereira talked to the media and stated that the team always tries to keep the right attitude even when at times things don’t go how we want. The Rojiblanco team look to get the three points at home in the rematch this weekend as they look to even the score and get past their arch-rivals in the standings.

El Clásico Hidalguense is a clásico that lives till this day for the people of Hidalgo. Los Tuzos are currently fourth in the standings and have managed to stay afloat after an up and down start to their season. They are coming off a dominant 4-0 victory over Los Xolos behind two goals from Edwin Cardona. Pachuca looks to ride their momentum forward as they get set to visit La Maquina in El Azteca.

Cruz Azul who for their part have struggled to find their identity seem to be clicking at the right time. They are currently 2-1-0 in their last three league games scoring five goals while conceding two, but they will be without Elias Hernandez who injured his knee in week nine against Necaxa.

Los Cementeros are currently in the tenth spot on the standings and can squeeze into the top eight should they take home the three points. It was only right that the top two teams in the league coming into Week Ten end the Clasico Regio with a thrilling 1-1 draw. In failing to come out with the three points, Tigres UANL dropped to second in the standings ahead of their cross-town rivals by one point in the table.

Los Felinos will host last-place Queretaro who managed to get their first draw of the season last week against Guadalajara. Queretaro’s manager Víctor Manuel Vucetich stated that the foul on Villalva in the box last week against Chivas in the final seconds could’ve been a penalty. Vucetich went on to say their match against Los Rojiblancos was a good test of resistance and his team demonstrated that they are growing as a club.

Los Gallos Blancos hope to give the second best team in the league a run for their money and get ahead a struggling Veracruz in the standings. The team with the best defense in the league enters Round 11 as the number one team in the standings. Club Leon is tied for most goals scored with 23 goals in the season but only conceding six. Los Panzas Verdes are riding a seven-game winning streak where they have scored 19 of their 23 goals while only conceding one.

Although they are coming off a narrow 1-0 win over Lobos Buap, they will host a struggling Veracruz who has yet to win a game this season. With a victory, Leon can retain the top spot on the standings leading into Round 12 of La Liga MX.It will be an exciting week as one match can drastically change the outcome of the table. A few coaches may be on the firing block should they fail to get a victory this week.
