Chucky Bails Gattuso Out, Secures Napoli Win Against Lowly Genoa

Lozano came to Napoli’s rescue and scored the game-winner in the 66th minute, just two minutes after subbed in. This marks the second time El Chucky has been subbed on and secured the game for Napoli since the restart of play. Lozano has slowly been turning his Italian nightmare around and showing he can still be an asset to teams willing to take him in the upcoming transfer market.

Almost two years after Chucky made his name outside of Mexico with his thrilling goal against Germany in the 2018 world cup, he has struggled to secure a starting spot at the Italian team.

That task became more daunting as the man who brought him to Napoli, Carlo Ancelotti, was sacked and replaced by Genaro Gattuso. Gattuso has made no secret of his lack of faith in the Mextranjero and famously kicked him out of practice a few weeks ago for what he perceived as a lack of effort.

Today, however, Chucky proved his worth again saving Napoli from a draw against a team that is in 18th place in Serie A.
Lozano has only made 21 appearances for Napoli, netting two goals and one assist while spending only 26% in the starting lineup and the rest of the time glued to the bench. Since the restart, however, Lozano has subbed on twice and scored to secure victories.

Chucky seems to be finding his form again at the right time, with the transfer window right around the corner. The current state of soccer with the global pandemic wrecking team’s financials, however, may make a move away from Italy nearly impossible for El Chucky. Napoli will look to at least regain the $41 million spent to bring Lozano in, With a current transfer value of only about $31 million a team will have to bid about $12 million overvalue to have a chance, with Mino Raiola as his agent though, nothing is impossible.

Should Lozano look to earn his way back to Gattuso’s starting 11 or seek a move away from Italy?
