Concacaf World Cup Qualifiers Match Week 13 Preview

With only two matches left in the final round of the Concacaf world cup qualifiers, we still do not have one country that has secured their direct pass to Qatar. We will preview match week 13 which could be the defining match week.

Canada vs Jamaica

Canada comes into this match having lost 1-0 in Costa Rica and losing their long standing undefeated streak. Jamaica comes off a 1-1 draw against El Salvador at home. The Canadians look to secure a direct qualification spot to Qatar with a win or tie vs Jamaica and/or a Costa Rica loss or tie in their match. The Reggae boys although they have been eliminated they still look to squander the Canadians hope of securing their spot at home and hope to have Canada play the final game still not knowing their fate.

Their match is on today March 27th at 4:05 pm ET / 1:05 pm PT at BMO Stadium in an Toronto, Canada.

El Salvador vs Costa Rica

El Salvador plays host to Costa Rica and what will be a huge game for los ticos in hopes of securing at least a play-in series for the world cup. Los Celestes come into this game after having played in Jamaica to a 1-1 draw, while Los Ticos played at home and took an important victory against Canada.

Costa Rica looks capitalize on that momentum after have taken down Canada and keep their world cup hopes alive, if they get a win and a panama loss they secure at least a play-in series to qualify for the world cup.

Their match is on today March 27th at 5:05 pm ET / 2:05 pm PT at Estadio Cuscatlan in an Salvador, El Salvador.

USA vs Panama

United States plays host to Panama in what could be spot clinching game for the united states and/or a fate sealing defeat for Panama.

The United States comes off having secured a valuable point from El Estadio Azteca after a 0-0 draw against Mexico and staying at least for now in the 2nd position of the table. With a win or draw against Panama tonight the United States can secure at least their spot in a play-in series for a World Cup spot.

Panama on the other hand needs a few results in order for them to stay alive for an opportunity heading into the final matchweek. To stay alive Panama needs the following:

• IF Panama wins: Needs a Costa Rica loss or a draw to leapfrom them in standings or a Costa Rica win will stay one point behind heading into final match.

• IF Panama draws: Needs a Costa Rica loss or a draw

• IF Panama loses: Need a Costa Rica loss or a draw

• IF Panama loses and Costa Rica wins, Panama will automatically be eliminated from qualifying

United States will face Panama today at 7:00 pm ET / 4:00 pm PT at Exploria Stadium in Orlando, Florida.

Honduras vs Mexico

Honduras will play host to Mexico and Los Catrachos look to spoil Mexico’s hope of securing at least a play-in series spot in San Pedro Sula.

Honduras is coming off a 1-1 draw in Panama and is currently in last place of the standings, having already been eliminated from making it to the World Cup but look to play spoilers this week. Mexico also is coming off a draw against their northern rivals but has an opportunity to at least secure their spot in a play-in series by defeating Honduras tonight.

Honduras will face Mexico tonight at 7:00 pm ET / 4:00 pm PT at Olímpico Metropolitano in San Pedro Sula, Honduras.
