Cruz Azul and America disappoint in the Clasico Joven with a 0-0 draw at Azteca

America came out on full attack mode for this match. They created two early opportunities and it appeared they would take the lead, but the ball just could not make it was to the back of the net. However, that changed as the Cementeros slowly started implementing their game plan. In what appeared to be a high scoring affair, was all but that. The two teams went into halftime in a 0-0 tie. Even the possession battle was almost even at the half.
No changes for either team in the second half. Both teams appeared to not take any chances on defense. Up to the 65th minute it this half mirrored the first half. The second half continued and neither team was able to produce a goal. Yes, both teams had some opportunities to score, but you have to give credit to both goalies, Jesus Corona, and back up goalie for Club America as they made every stop that was shot on goal.
