The Club World Cup Final on FIFA 21: Here’s What Happened
Tigres has been on a historic run in the Club World Cup making it further than any Mexican team and on Thursday they will face Bayern Munich in the final. Now, on paper it look like a daunting task for Los Felinos going up against a team that dominated Europe last year. What can we expect from this game? Once again we look to FIFA 21 for these answers.
The Line Up
For this simulation we used the latest squad available and set the lineup in the way Tuca has Tigres playing in this tournament. While Tuca has recently experimented with a 4-2-3-1 and a 4-3-3, for the game against Palmeiras he went back to his preferred 4-4-2 with a double holding 6 as so.
The First Half
Now the first half of the simulation did produce some unexpected results as possession was very even with Tigres having 46% possession to Bayern’s 54%. Tigres did allow a late goal to Joshua Kimmich in the 35th minute. Both teams’ passing was above average with Tigres ending the half with 84% and Bayern 96%.
The Second Half
The second half produced pretty much the same results as Tigres were unable to catch the German giants and fell 1-0. Possession swayed a little more towards the reigning UEFA Champions to 59% to 41% for Tuca’s men. Bayern were the more dangerous team taking 5 shots and having four of them on target and containing Gignac to just one shot .
The Aftermath
Now our FIFA 21 simulations have been pretty accurate and unfortunately for Tigres, their fairytale run comes up short. Tuca’s men will have to play a flawless game to come away with the victory. Hopefully for Liga MX supporters, the simulation only gets the back and forth and excitement of the game right, not the final score.
