As beautiful as the game of futbol is, it comes with its ugly side as well. Bad calls, bad misses, and in this case really bad injuries. While injuries are part of the game these 10 Liga MX injuries are horrific.

10. Alejandro Arribas-Pumas vs Cruz Azul Clausura 2018
Arribas was disputing a ball with Cruz Azul forward Mora, when he fell and tried to cushion his fall with his arm, his arm gave out under the weight popping leaving viewers with a gruesome image.
9. Efrain Juarez-America vs Correcaminos Copa MX 2012
Juarez had won a ball in his own third and while trying to advance it upfield, was slide tackled by a Correcaminos defender, again his arm buckled under his weight snapping.
8. Isaac Brizuela-Chivas vs Toluca Clausura 2017
El Conejito was sidelined 12 weeks after an encounter with Rubens Sambueza. While Brizuela dribbled back looking for a pass, Rubens stepped on his ankle from behind fracturing him in the process.
7. Marc Crosas-Cruz Azul vs America Clausura 2015
Another one to add to the Sambueza file, while disputing a ball with Crosas, Rubens shoved and kicked the Cruz Azul man causing him to misstep resulting in ruptured cruciate ligaments in his right knee.
6. Jesus Sanchez-Chivas vs Morelia Apertura 2012
Early in the second half of the game, Sanchez jumped over a Morelia man to win a header, however, the contact made him fall awkwardly, landing on his arm, causing it to pop.
5. Mauricio Romero- Monarcas vs Pumas Clausura 2011
Just 11 minutes into the game, Romero was fighting for a loose ball when his right foot got caught under a falling Martin Bravo, The impact twisted Romero over Bravo but his foot stayed under giving for a horrible visual.
4. Giovanni Dos Santos- America vs Chivas Apertura 2019
Gio was the victim of one of the most grisly injuries during a Super Clasico. Gio was the victim of a stud up challenge by El Pollo Briseno. The collision sent Dos Santos flying and once he landed, we saw a gaping wound in Gio’s leg.
3. Oscar Ustari- Atlas vs Tigres Apertura 2017
As far as visually graphic goes Ustaris injury leaves a lasting impression. After making a great save, Ustari drops the ball to play and as he kicks it, you can see awkward movement in his left leg that results in a bulge sticking out. The site of hi hunched crying while Aquino grabs his head in disbelief shows the severity of the freak injury.
2. Eugenio Pizzuto- Pachuca vs Leon Clausura 2020
Rising star Pizzuto was debuting for Pachuca after a stellar U-17 World Cup performance when disaster struck. Pizzuto stretched to pass a ball in the midfield when his right foot got caught under his body and rupture. What made the scene more devastating is that the injury happened in front of Luis Montes, who himself had a horror injury with El Tri, that kept him out of the World Cup.
1. Edgar Andrade- Cruz Azul vs Tecos Clausura 2007
Andrade had his promising rise in Liga MX cut short with a bizarre yet spine-chilling injury. While sliding to stop a cross, Andrade’s right foot got stuck in the grass while his momentum took him over it causing it to fracture, the image is haunting to this day.
