ETO Transfer Watch: European Heavyweights to Duke it Out For Jimenez
Since before their Europa League campaign came to an end, Wolves have been dealing with the constant transfer rumors for Raul Jimenez. Now it seems two contenders will duke it out for the service of the Mexican striker.
According to reports from Italian news outlet Gazzetta dello Sport, El Comandante himself has given La Bella Signora the request to bring in the Mexican number 9.
Jimenez has been a hot commodity in Europe after scoring 27 goals in all competitions for Wolves this year, and being a key reason they were in the hunt for a UEFA Champions League spot up until the last game this season.
The current situation caused by the COVID Pandemic might require Juventus to offload some players to raise funds as Wolves are said to want 80 million Euros or around 95 million dollars for Jimenez.
Juventus are in dire need of goals with Ronaldo scoring 40 percent of the teams goals and all of their goals in the UEFA Knockout Rounds. Jimenez would quickly fix that issue, and would thrive in a trident alongside Ronaldo and Dybala.
Manchester United remain heavily linked to Jimenez and have been for the better part of this year.United seem unbothered financially by the pandemic and are looking to make big signings to their improving squad. Jimenez joins the likes of Sancho, Saul, Grealish, Magalhaes, and Schmeichel among many others to be linked with United this summer. Solskjaer’s squad was the best team in England since the break, and look to challenge atop the Premier League next season after a tumultuous post Ferguson era.
The Mexican wolf would split time on the Red Devils with Anthony Martial and Odion Ighalo. National team coach Tata Martino has encouraged Jimenez to move to United, stating the team lacks a pure number 9 like Jimenez, and he would compliment Rashford and Martial’s wing play.
Where do you think El Lobo Mexicano should play next season? Let us know.
