FC Juarez to Sign Marco Fabian, Introduce Tato Noriega as Sports Advisor
Bravos continue to make roster changes for the current tournament both on the field and off. Monday it was announced that Jose Antonio “ Tato” Noriega would be an external Sports Advisor for the club and the imminent arrival of Marco Fabian.
El Tato will not be moving to Juarez and will remain in his current location, traveling to the border town when his services are required. Bravos stated that they are confident that Tato’s experience in different realms of futbol will help the team stay on course and reach their goals. Noriega retired from active futbol in 2004 after playing for seven different teams in Mexico and was an analyst for ESPN Deportes. Both Bravos and Tato made the move official on their respective social media accounts.
The arrival of former Mextranjero Marco Fabian to Juarez seems a done deal. Fabian is said to be on his way to Juarez to make the move official. Marco was without a team after leaving Al Saad and will be a free addition to Los Bravos. Fabian has had a rocky career since his second stint with Chivas, being mildly successful at Eintracht Frankfurt in the Bundesliga, and had a quick uneventful stint with the MLS’s Philadelphia Union and failing to impress at Al Saad. Bravos will hope Fabian can regain the form he showed earlier in his career and help solidify the team which currently sits 6th in Liga MX. The team has been in need of star power in its time in Liga MX, and are hoping Fabian can become the new face of the team. Bravos recently released who many considered the face of the team when they sold Leandro Carillo to the USL’s El Paso Locomotives, their neighbors across the border. Juarez will look to continue to impress as they recently overcame a goal deficit and tied UNAM in CU with 9 men, drawing the accolades of many around Liga MX.
Both moves are aggressive and indicate that the Bravos board is looking to use the time without relegation to stabilize and adapt the team to Liga MX and allow them to remain competitive for the long haul.
