Jimenez scores again but Wolves fall to Everton
Raul Jimenez scored in his fourth consecutive game, but his game-tying goal wasn’t enough to stop his Wolves from losing to Everton 3-2.
Jimenez scored against Torino in the home-and-away Europa League series and also versus Burnley last week. Today, the Mexican striker scored in the 75th minute when his team was down 2-1. He found himself at the right place at the right time following a throw-in that was headed by Willy Boly and perfectly set up Jimenez for a header goal.
The goal, however, came at a price as RJ9 took a kick to the face from Lucas Digne. Raul laid on the pitch for several minutes but fortunately would recover and finish the game.
With the game tied 2-2, the intensity grew. Everton became the aggressor, and in the 80th minute, Richarlison scored his second goal of the game following a cross from Digne to give the Toffees a 3-2 lead and eventual victory.
Wolverhampton tried to get the game equalizer but was unable to penetrate the Everton defense. It’s a severe Premier League result for the Wanderers as they’ve accumulated only three points in their first four matches and sit 17th the table.
Things don’t get any easier for Raul and company. Following the FIFA break, they’ll take on Chelsea and begin the Europa League group stage against Portuguese side Braga.
