LAFC continue to stay undefeated at home after trouncing Montreal Impact 4-2
The home of LAFC has turned out to be the nightmare for every MLS team. It seems as if every team that sets foot on Banc of California either loses the game in the last minute or leaves the Banc with a basket full of goals. They have an impressive record of 7-0-1 at home after tonight’s game.
Tonight was not any different. Montreal Impact came into the leader’s home to try and stop their home undefeated streak, but in the process their night of horror started early, when at minute 7th their goalkeeper (Evan Bush) tried to clear a ball off his area but Chris Ramirez deflected it and the ball went into the net, to give Los Angelinos the early advantage.
The host took control of the first half and had chance after chance of scoring. The glorious moment came at minute 28th when their Captain Carlos Vela scored his goal number 15th of the season, surpassing his 14th from last season.
LAFC’s outstanding first half concluded with Latiff Blessing’s first goal of the season at minute 31 to send the Black and gold with the 3-0 lead into the locker rooms.
The second half started with the same intensity from the home team, and at minute 55 added their last goal of the night courtesy of defender Tristan Blackmon.
The visitors increase their pressing on the offense and cut the distance at minute 70th after Eddie Segura scored an own goal. A second goal for the Impact came at minute 84th via PK, Saphir Taider put the final score 4-2.
After 15 games LAFC continues with their unstoppable streak and keeps being a lonely leader with 34 points. 12 points over the 2nd position Seattle Sounders with 2 games less.
The black and gold have an amazing record overall of 10W, 4D, and 1L. Also Vela’s new record of 15 goals and 6 assists with more than half of the season remaining. At this rate, Vela has everything to become MLS new MVP and break Josef Martinez’s last year record of goals in one season of 31 goals.
Cracklitos if you only had the Mexican pride that some of us have and join El Tri. You could’ve made history.
