Leon end Querétaro un-beaten streak by beating them 4-0

What looked to be a battle of the titans, only one team reigned supreme. Los Gallos Blancos of Querétaro played host to Leon in Estadio
La Corregidora. Querétaro was humbled today with an embarrassing loss to Leon 4-0.

Leon opened the floodgates with a brace from José Juan Macías, and scores came in the 34th minute and 73rd minute of the match. Chivas wished they had their player back from loan with the amount of productivity J. J. Macias has displayed. Last week, he scored against his old team, and today he added a brace.

At the 66th minute, the second goal of the match came from the Equadorian Ángel Mena on a clinical lob over Querétaros goalkeeper.

The final goal came from Luis Montes thanks to an assist from Joel Campbell at the 89th minute.

With several close calls, Querétaro could not catch a break and missed a penalty kick from Luis Romo. The Gallos Blancos midfielder was looking to build his case for a call up to the Mexican National Team. Querétaro could not hold on to the number one spot and plan to regain their mojo after this disappointing loss.

Up next, Leon will look to knock out another number one team in Santos on August 28th. Querétaro is scheduled to face off against last-place Veracruz on August 27th.
