LIGA MX APERTURA 2024 WEEK ONE RECAP

Here are the results for Week 1 of the Liga MX Apertura 2024:

Puebla 1-0 Santos Laguna: Puebla secured a narrow victory with a goal from Lucas Cavallini (PK) 96’.

Querétaro 1-2 Tijuana: Tijuana (Xolos) beat Queretaro with goals from Carlos Gonzalez 21’ and Domingo Blanco 68’. Queretaro’s lone goal came from Samuel Sosa 62’. 

Juárez 2-2 Atlas: An exciting draw featured goals fromAngel Zaldivar 37’ and Aviles Hurtado (PK) 72’ for Bravos, and Eduardo Aguirre 49’, and Luis Reyes 81’.​

Atlético San Luis 2-1 América: Atlético San Luis triumphed over América with goals from Mateo Klimowicz 7’,50’, while América’s lone goal came from Henry Martin 5’.

Chivas 0-0 Toluca: The match ended in a goalless draw with both teams playing cautiously. 

Tigres 1-0 Necaxa: Tigres won with a single goal from who else but Andre Pierre Gignac (PK) 19’.

Cruz Azul 1-0 Mazatlán: Cruz Azul edged out Mazatlán with a goal from Bryan Gamboa in the 94’. Cruz Azul played the with 10 men from the 75’ due to Camilo Candido’s Red Card.

Pumas 4-1 León: Pumas delivered a strong performance with goals from Jorge Ruvalcaba 11’,88’, Luis Cervantes OG 26’, and Guillermo Martinez 80. León’s consolation goal came from Jose Alvarado 31’.

Pachuca 0-1 Monterrey: Monterrey secured an away win with a goal from Sergio Canales in the 14’.

These matches marked an eventful start to the Apertura season, showcasing competitive play and individual brilliance across the league.
