Liga MX Rankings: Week 4

Another week of Liga MX has passed by, putting new teams on our rankings and eliminating team off our list. Give us your thoughts on this week’s picks.

5. Chivas

Chivas continue to show a higher level on the field then they did early in the season. After defeating Santos in Copa MX, Chivas managed to pick up another win in the Apertura against Atletico San Luis. While also fighting against relegation, how far can Chivas stay away from the bottom?

4. Queretaro

The primary objective for Queretaro’s head coach, Victor Manuel Vucetich, is to save his team from being relegated. But, he has proven his team can compete against any team. Los Gallos Blancos are one of the last three undefeated teams in the season and so far, they’re exceeding expectations for their management and their fans.

3. Tigres

It was a memorable night for Andre-Pierre Gignac and Tigres. Gignac was recognized as the top scorer with 105 goals for his team and proved yet again why he’s one of the best in the league with a hat-trick. Los Universitarios are a few points behind from first place in the league table but that can change soon if they keep performing well like they did this past Saturday.

2. America

After the breaking news on Guillermo Ochoa’s transfer to America, Las Aguilas kept their focus and picked up another three points. A goal from the rapid Renato Ibarra was enough to keep them on track towards playoffs and on our rankings. America also plays early this week for the Campeones Cup against Atlanta United on Wednesday.

1. Santos

Santos continues to dominate in Mexico with four consecutive wins this season. Besides being on top of the standings of the Liga MX, Los Laguneros have the best offense with twelve goals and one of the best defense with only two goals conceded in four games. How much more can Santos do this season?
