LIGA MX: RECAP OF THE BEST 3 MATCHES IN ROUND 7 OF THE 2020 CLAUSURA

Here’s my recap of the Best 3 Matches in Round 7 of the 2020 Clausura.

Cruz Azul 2 – 1 Tigres

This match had a little bit of everything, from an unintentional handball inside the small box to an offside goal.

An early goal from Los Cementeros after a header assist from Juan Escobar and another header from Luis Romo would give them the lead at the 8th minute.

Javier Aquino would then tie the match at the 62nd minute after Jesus Corona blocks a shot from Luis Quiñones sending the ball near the Oaxaqueño. Despite that error, Corona played a great match.

At the 81st minute a freekick from Adrian Aldrete would sneak its way in-between Meza and Gignac and end up in the back of net.

Aldrete’s goal gave La Maquina a 2-1 victory over Tigres and mark the first time he scores in two consecutive games in his career.

Watch the highlights below:

Monterrey 0 – 1 América

This game was the rematch of last season’s final.

Luis Fuentes gave América the lead at the 35th minute after the ball was deflected off Marcelo Barovero.

Although Monterrey dominated the match and generated plenty of opportunities, Memo Ochoa was there to save the night by blocking all their shots, denying Rayados from earning their first victory of the season.

Las Águilas earned 3 points on the road and are currently the súper líderes with 16 points.

Watch the highlights below:

Pumas 1 – 2 Monarcas

The team with most goals scored faced off against the team with the most goals received.

An early goal from Pumas at the 6th minute off a header by Luis Quintana would give UNAM the lead.

Morelia would then score in stoppage time in the first and second half.

Los Universitarios lost for the first time this season and with that the chance to find themselves at the top of the standings.

On the other hand, Morelia is now at four games without having lost on the road.
