LIGA MX WEEK 9, MONEYLINES, ODDS, PICKS, AND PARLAY
Well, the least said about that last round, the better. Moving on. Another manager has lost his job as America dismissed Solari after a dismal tournament. Now, let’s see if I can bounce back with this week’s picks.
THE MONEYLINES
Moneylines are accurate as of 3/4/2022.
THE ODDS
Odds are provided by fivethirtyeight.
THE PICKS
NECAXA VS TOLUCA
A matchup of two teams desperate for a win, both Toluca and Necaxa desperately need a W. Necaxa seems to be playing better as Lozano tries to instill his tactics on the squad. Give me Los Rayos @+100.
BRAVOS VS LEON
Bravos cost Puebla their Liderato getting a point in their visit to El Cuauhtemoc. Leon was unable to beat a Monterrey squad that was transitioning after firing El Vasco. A draw @+215 may be a good way to go, I’m taking Leon @+140, though.
GALLOS VS ATLAS
The champs are currently on a two-game losing streak, Gallos have become the Kings of the Draw in Liga MX reaching five draws this tournament. Their latest draw vs America cost Solari his job. Again, a draw may be a good option here, I look for La Academia to bounce back, give me Atlas @+140.
MONTERREY VS AMERICA
Talk about two squads desperate for a win. America is at the bottom of the table and Rayados are just above them. America will have an interim manager, while Monterrey should have Vucetich on the bench. I’m taking a draw @+245 in this one.
CRUZ AZUL VS PUEBLA
In one of the games of the round, Puebla visit La Maquina. Los Camoteros remain undefeated while Cruz Azul is struggling to find consistency. This will be Puebla’s toughest challenge to date, I think Cruz Azul will hand them their first loss. Give me La Maquina @-105.
CHIVAS VS SANTOS
Chivas rescued a point in their last match against San Luis. Santos continues their upward trend winning their last two matches. I’m taking Santos to end Chivas’ misery under Leano. I’ll take Santos @+225.
UNAM VS MAZATLAN
Mazatlan parted ways with their manager after their draw against Necaxa. UNAM is aching for a win in Liga MX, their last victory coming the 13th of February. I look for UNAM to take advantage of the uncertainty in Mazatlan. Give me Pumas @-140.
PACHUCA VS TIGRES
Another one of the games of the round pits two teams on lengthy unbeaten streaks. Pachuca is currently on a five-game unbeaten streak, while Tigres are enjoying a six-game unbeaten streak. I’m giving TIgres the edge in this game. Give me Piojo’s men @+185.
XOLOS VS SAN LUIS
Xolos seem to have turned their season around and are currently enjoying a three-game unbeaten run. San Luis is playing better and hasn’t lost in two matches. I’m going out on a limb here and going with San Luis @+320.
MY PARLAY
Redemption time….maybe. This week I’m taking Atlas (@+140), Santos (@+225), San Luis (@+320), and a draw between Monterrey and America (@+245). These four picks give us a total Moneyline of +11202. With my traditional $100 wager, the payout will be $11,302.20.
