Lozano proving his worth at Napoli!
Love him or hate him; you can’t resist watching him score. El Mextranjero Hirving “El Chucky” Lozano is continuing to get more minutes on the pitch with Napoli and taking advantage of the situation, proving he was well worth being picked up. He had a solid brace in today’s match on his way to scoring two goals against Atalanta and went on to play the entire game in a stunning four – one victory over the Italian counterpart.
When Gennaro Gattuso arrived at Napoli, following the dismissal of Carlo Ancelotti, tensions were high as the Italian tactician had doubts in the Mexican player. Initially, Lozano received very little playtime to prove himself. Things have surely changed as he now has 4 goals this season, and it’s evident he’s not stopping there.
His first goal came in early at the 23rd minute of the match as Chucky took advantage of a ball deflected by the goalkeeper that fell in the area to push it in. He showed his true skill during his second goal, which came shortly after in the 27th minute. Chucky appeared on the left, cut to the center, and took a shot between two rivals, as the ball sunk in the net beautifully, leaving the goalie short of reach. Napoli went on to win the match stunningly, and Lozano stayed on to play the entire match delivering a stellar performance.
These performances always have a positive impact on the players, especially if the National team calls them up. In this case, because of the rising threat in Italy for Covid-19, Chucky was not invited to face the Netherlands and Algeria in Mexico’s last friendlies. The good news for Hirving is that El Tri will have more friendlies in November against South Korea and Japan, and with these results, he will certainly be called up to play. As the confidence that Gatusso has in Lozano grows, chances are we will see more of him on the pitch.
