Marco Fabian continues to struggle in MLS, but Union wins
Philadelphia Union and Marco Fabian de la Mora were able to keep three points at home, despite they were losing the game until the 85th minute.
On a very discrete game, FC Dallas went up on the scoreboard early in the match when Reto Ziegler scored a beautiful goal via a freekick.
Even though the home team was losing for most of the match, they had the most action on the field, with 18 shots and eight of them on target.
Marco Fabian, however, had a bad night, at the ninth minute, he received a yellow card, that made him play with caution throughout the whole game. His worst moment in the match came at the 85th minute, the referee called a penalty kick in favor of the Union, Marco took the shot, but FC Dallas goalie Jimmy Maurer stopped it. Thankfully for Maco’s team, the ball was deflected towards Cory Burke, who pushed it in and gave them the equalizer.
The home team never gave up, and during stoppage time their reward came. At minute 92 Alejandro Bedoya had a fantastic play in the box, as he took on two defenders and scored the winning goal for Philly.
As for Fabian, his time is running out, and he cannot miss these kinds of opportunities if he wishes to be part of Tata Martino’s team during the next Gold Cup.
