Mexico City teams continue to dominate the Guard1anes 2020 season
Cruz Azul back to its wining ways.
Cruz Azul continues to make El Azteca a true fortress and although things did not look so good for La Celeste throughout the 90 minutes, the team led by Robert Dante Siboldi took the victory towards the end of the game against los Tuzos del Pachuca by 1-0 with a goal from Jonathan Rodríguez.
America earns 3 points with a gritty comeback
The first half was dominated by Puebla. They dominated America at will. Just three minutes into the game, Amaury Escoto had the chance to open the scoring but failed to finish off his head, however, he had another chance in the 17thminute, this time he did not fail and beat Guillermo Ochoa. Almost half an hour into the game, Bernardo Cuesta appeared, received outside the area, turned around, and from long distance hung her at the corner. Puebla was winning it quietly. America’s faith changed late in the first half. Miguel Herrera knew that he had to move his pieces and put Nicolás Benedetti and Leonardo Suárez in the game, taking out Sebastián Córdova and Jesús López from the game. After being down 2-0 Las Aguilas mounted a 3-2 comeback. America reaches 19 units, and would sleep that night as general leader along with Cruz Azul. Puebla will stay with 10 units, is in danger of falling to 13th place.
Pumas remain undefeated
Juan Manuel Iturbe made an impact in this match. The Paraguayan scored his first goal with Pumas in the Guard1anes 2020 tournament to extend the undefeated Auriazules. They beat Santos 2-1 at home as they become leaders of the tournament. Included along the leaders are Cruz Azul and America. Pumas remained undefeated and look to make a run at the championship midway through this 2020 season.
