Mexico vs USA preview
North America’s most prominent soccer rivalry is back.
New Jersey’s MetLife Stadium will be the stage for a friendly game between Mexico and the United States. Despite not being an official match, both teams are expected to play as if a title were on the line.
The Mexican team comes from defeating Gregg Berhalter’s squad 1-0 in the 2019 Gold Cup Final on July 7th. The lone goal scored by Jonathan Dos Santos late in the second half gave El Tri the CONCACAF Championship.
Gerardo Martino and his squad are riding a ten-game undefeated streak. With most of their star players back on the lineup, except for Carlos Vela, they will look to continue their winning ways.
Tata Martino announced in a press conference today that Cesar Montes and Chaka Rodriguez will be returning to their respective teams due to injuries.
El Tri looks to continue their recent dominance over the Americans. The team south of the border has won three of the last five games versus the Stars and Stripes. The game will kick-off at 8:30 pm ET.
