Following a weather delay due to stormy weather in the Dallas area, the game kicked off with Mexico of course in control. Just as in their previous matchup, Mexico had majority control of possession for the entire game but this time around they were able to get the ball into the back of the net. First up for that was Rogelio Funes Mori, Mexico’s newest ace up their sleeve. In the 29th minute of play he would score a tremendous bender around the goalkeeper to open the scoreboard and score Mexico’s first goal in this tournament. Funes Mori would score again in the second half in the 55th minute to make it 2-0. The final goal of the night would come in the 79th minute of play off an Orbelin Pineda header.

With this 3-0 win, Mexico now has 4 points in the competition, standing firmly in second place behind group leaders, El Salvador. These two nations will face off on Sunday for a shot at first place and for Mexico, to secure their passage into the next round of the Gold Cup.
