Mextranjeros perform exceptionally in the Champions League

You love to see it, and you love to read about it. Mextranjeros once again make a significant impact and on the biggest club stage of all. Hector Herrera, Jesus Corona, and Edson Alvarez were all on the pitch this Tuesday for their teams. The two victories and a draw speak for themselves.

Tecatito and Porto are victorious

Corona is continuing to prove why he was voted Porto’s player of the year. He started things off right with a solid cross inside the box to Moussa Marega in the 4th minute of the match, which resulted in a goal. That wasn’t all; the Marseille defender fouled the Mexican in the box and was ruled a penalty taken by Sergio Oliveira at the 28th minute, which put them up two-nil. To close things out, with a beautiful backheel from Corona to Luis Diaz in the 69th minute, the score would become 3-0 with a lot of time left on the clock. Tecatitowas eventually subbed off at the 85th minute, having performed stellarly and leaving the Portuguese team in second place of Group C.

Hererra dishes out an assist as Atletico splits points

Hector Herrera continues to impact one of the top teams in La Liga, and today was no different. He took participated in his team’s early goal during today’s draw. The Mexican Midfielder sent a beautiful cross that Jose Giménez found at the near post, and with a simple flick, took the lead in the 18th minute. Hector went on to play the entire match but fell short to keep the lead as Atletico managed to give a penalty to the Russian powerhouse, and Anton Miranchuk evened out the scoreboard. With this draw and sharing a point, Atletico still sits in second place of Group A with four points.

Alvarez earns minutes with Ajax

With little playtime that the Mexican Midfielder has received in Ajax, today was a different story. Even though he was not part of any of the goals that gave the team from Amsterdam their victory, he was subbed in at the match’s 60th minute. The likely reason for that was that Perr Schuurs had a booking and needed to be subbed off to avoid expulsion. The victory places Ajax in second place in Group D with four points under Liverpool.
