MLS Prevails in Penalty Kicks vs the Liga MX All Stars.
On a beautiful Wednesday evening, in Los Angeles, CA two of North America’s leagues matched up against each other. Liga MX and Major League Soccer both came together to showcase their top-notch talent in this match. With Liga MX you had players like Nahuel Guzman, Memo Ochoa, Cabecita Rodriguez, Alexis Vega and Rogelio Funes Mori. MLS boasted players such as Diego Rossi, Rodolfo Pizarro, Raul Ruidiaz and Nani. Both teams were stacked with talent.
The atmosphere at the Banc of California stadium was electric, and it was palpable throughout the entire venue. Once the game started the crowd settled in and both teams put on a show. The stars of Mexico, led by Juan Reynoso, took the lead thanks to a goal from Jonathan Rodriguez in the 20th minute. The Uruguayan controlled the ball with his chest inside the area and sent the ball to the back of the net.
However, in the 2nd half, the MLS All-Stars reached parity thanks to a lethal header from Jesús Murillo in the 53rd minute. The 1-1 score stood for 90 minutes, and thus penalties would be the only way to declare a winner.
In the shootout, Bradley’s pupils celebrated with scoring from Kreilach, Salloi, and Pepi, while for Liga MX, only Ruben Sambueza and Luis Romo managed to score. All the others failed. With this, the MLS All-Star team won its All-Star game after six long years. The last time they were victorious in the MLS All-Star game was in 2015 against Tottenham.
