Necaxa and Toluca tie in Aguascalientes
Necaxa with important wins in their recent games couldn’t find the win against struggling Toluca, tying 1-1 in Aguascalientes.
Necaxa has only been victorious in one of the last nine games at home when facing Toluca. But, Toluca does have their statistics behind them, they have continued to struggle throughout the season.
Los Rayos got on the scoreboard first thanks to Mauro Quiroga in the 12th minute. Jesus Angulo took a long cross from the far left side of the field and into the center. Mauro connected with his right foot inside the penalty area, nothing Alfredo Talavera could do to stop it.

In the 37th minute, Luis Hernandez took the ball to the right side with no pressure from his rivals, found Emmanuel Gigliotti by the arc of the penalty box. Gigliotti received the ball for a quick left shot, hitting the ball towards the right post and into the net, scoring his first goal in the season.

Ricardo La Volpe has been struggling to get his team to score since the beginning of the season. Toluca has the second-worst offense in the league with only four goals scored in the seven games. If La Volpe doesn’t see any improvement with his team, we could see him as the next coach to be sacked this season.
Toluca will face Pumas this Sunday in Mexico City and Necaxa will stay at home to receive Xolos on Saturday.
