Necaxa earns its first 3 points in a 7-0 sweep against Veracruz.
Los Hidrorayos struck Veracruz with a seven-goal sweep at home, earning their first three points in the 2019 Apertura.
Necaxa’s first goal of the night, and of the tournament, came in the 11th minute when Maxi Salas took a left-footed shot from outside the box that goalie Sebastian Jurado was unable to reach. It was also the first goal for the Argentinian, who revindicated himself by scoring a brace later in the game, after having missed a penalty in their first match against Cruz Azul.
Vasquez’s men were able to secure a 3-0 lead in the 58th minute when Chilean winger Juan Delgado also scored his first goal with the team. That’s when the massacre began. The rest of the goals were also scored by their recent signings as well as returning players; M. Quiroga, J.R. Angulo, Lalo Herrera, and C. Calderon.
The 12,846 fans present at Estadio Victoria were able to witness a 7-0 historic win.
Necaxa is set to face Tigres UANL next, while Veracruz, who hasn’t won a league game this calendar year, goes into Week 4 looking to earn that first victory against Atlas at home.
