Preview: Guard1anes 2021 Round 3
The third week of the Guard1anes 2021 season is here and we hope to see more goal activity than we saw in the previous week. As in week two we saw a significant decrease in goals scored with only 11 as opposed to the opening week which gave us 21 goals scored.
With two fewer games scheduled this weekend due to Monterrey and Club America postponing their matches against Leon and FC Juarez respectively because of players testing positive to COVID we look preview the upcoming matches:
Thursday – 01/21/21
Atletico San Luis vs Chivas
Atletico comes into this matchup having lost their previous two matches the most recent a 1-0 loss against Necaxa, and looks to pick up their first points as they host El Rebaño.
On the other hand, Chivas looks to get their first win of the season after getting two draws each at 1 goal scored with the most recent a 1-1 draw at home against Toluca.

Friday – 01/22/21
Puebla vs Tijuana
Los Camoteros look to continue on their momentum from last season. They have four points thus far good enough for 5th in the standings with a win against La Maquina in their last matchup. Tijuana looks to get on the win column for the first time this season as they got draws in their previous two matchups for this young season.

Mazatlan vs Santos Laguna
Mazatlan hosts Los Laguneros at home in the final Friday matchup as they look to get back on the win column after suffering a tough defeat against Pumas. After winning the first two matchups at home Santos looks to remain atop of the standings with a win in El Kraken.

Saturday – 01/23/21
Atlas vs Tigres
Los Rojinegros have the tough task of hosting Tigres on Saturday, with 8 losses and 3 draws in their last 11 official matches Atlas hopes to finally get their first win in some time. Los Felinos on the other hand have notorious slow starts to the season but hope to get back in the win column in Guadalajara after having suffered a 2-0 loss against Santos in the previous week.

Sunday – 01/24/21
Toluca vs Necaxa
Toluca plays host to Los Rayos de Necaxa in the early Sunday game, as Los Diablos Rojos look to get back in the win column after having left Guadalajara with one point after a 1-1 draw with Chivas.
Necaxa on the other hand looks to build on their momentum after getting their first three points with a win against San Luis last week, as they hope to do the same in the Estadio Nemesio Diez.

Queretaro vs Pumas
Los Gallos Blancos play host to Pumas as they hope to capitalize on their momentum after having defeated Atlas in the Estadio Corregidora 1-0
Pumas is also coming into this matchup off a win in which they dominated Mazatlan defeating them 3-0. Pumas hopes to build off that win and take three point in the Estadio Corregidora and move among the top of the standings.

Monday – 01/25/21
Pachuca vs Cruz Azul
The final matchup of the week will be played in Pachuca as Los Tuzos host La Maquina Monday evening. Pachuca comes into the game looking for their first win of the season after having tied their first two matches most recently a scoreless draw against the current champions Leon.
Cruz Azul looks to get their footing in this young season and find their first points of the 2021 Guard1anes season after having fallen in their first two matchups most recently a surprising loss against Puebla at home.
