Puebla’s Dramatic Last-Minute Goal Ties Querétaro

Querétaro opened the match as Super Leader of Liga MX with just one loss in the past six matches at home. Their opponent, Puebla, was looking to take down the league’s top dog and move up from the bottom of the table.

Los Gallos Blancos dominated the first half by generating opportunities and possession of the ball. Puebla held Querétaro’s attacks until the 30th minute when Fabián Castillo shot a rifle towards the top right of Puebla’s net.

Los Camoteros were down a goal at the half and needed to look into their bag of tricks to come back from the minimal deficit. With not much action in the second half, Los Gallos controlled the pitch and looked for opportunities to extend their lead. Puebla was able to keep up with their advances and searched for openings of their own.

In the final minute of the match, Puebla surprised Querétaro with a long-distance shot from the midfielder, Pablo Gonzalez Diaz.

Puebla was able to hold off the Liga MX giant and earn a hard-fought point.
