Raul Jimenez leads the Mextranjeros action in Europe
Jimenez scores for Wolves
Raul Jimenez’s goal in the 76th minute of the game helped the Wolverhampton Wanderers rescue a point versus Arsenal. Jimenez scored his fourth goal of the Premier League season with a header, giving 11 in all competitions.
The result allows the Wolves to stay close to European competition as they sit in 11th place as only three points separate sixth-place Sheffield United and them.
Chucky plays 32 minutes
Chucky Lozano played 32 minutes after coming in as a substitute in Napoli’s 2-1 defeat to Roma. The team from Naples was down 2-0 when Chucky went into the game; however, Lozano was unable to score once again as Ancelotti’s frustrations continue to grow with the Mexican. Napoli fell to 7th place in Serie A, and if El Chucky wants to continue to be summoned, he better score in his next game or two.
Herrera and Hernandez get little minutes
Hector Herrera and Javier Hernandez played a combined 25 minutes in the 1-1 draw between Sevilla and Atletico Madrid. Hernandez has been enjoying recent success with Sevilla and had started the past three games. The same thing can’t be said about Herrera as he remains in a sort of limbo with Diego Simeone, who is not counting on the former Pachuca player as we’d hope. Atletico is in third place and Sevilla in fourth, both chasing Real Madrid and Barcelona at the top of La Liga table.
Guardado starts and plays 90 vs Real Madrid
Andres Guardado started the game and played all 90 minutes versus Real Madrid as Betis managed to go into the Bernabeu and steal a point from the Merengues. Diego Lainez saw no action as he didn’t even make it to the bench. For his part, Guardado continues to be a staple for Betis played an essential role in his team’s draw.
Guti starts the game but plays only 45 minutes
Erick Gutierrez started the game and but played only the first 45 minutes of the match as PSV went on to draw 2-2 with Sparta Rotterdam. PSV continues to chase Edson Alvarez’ Ajax, who remains in the first place of the Eredivise. El Guti has been able to find consistent playing time in the second year with the Dutch side.]
