Rayados and Chivas split points in the closing of Week 14

After the FIFA break, Rayados hosted Chivas to close the 14th week of Liga MX. Monterrey came into this game with their new head coach Antonio Mohammed, on his return to team for the 3rd time.

The game started with a good back and forth rythm. Monterrey took the lead early in the 13th minute thanks to Jesus Gallardo who tapped the ball into the back of the net. Rogelio Funes Mori deflected the ball with a header on a corner kick to leave Chuy Gallardo with an easy opportunity to open up the score.

The game continued with this consistency but it wasn’t until minute 42 when Miguel Ponce evened up the scoreboard for Chivas. On what was a great play, Oribe Peralta ended up setting up a ball for Ponce who blasted it with his powerful left foot, leaving Barobero without a chance to stop it.

Monterrey will face Morelia, Pachuca, Tijuana and Atlas for the remainder of the season.

As for Chivas they will face Juarez, Tijuana, Toluca, Queretaro and Veracruz.
