Santos Overcomes Early Deficit, Draw at Home Against Tuzos

Santos was able to rescue a draw at home in Liga MX’s final game of the week. The draw leaves Santos in the 3rd spot in the table and Pachuca in the 15th.

Pachuca got on the board early, after a horrendous mistake by Jonathan Orozco was capitalized by Gustavo Cabral in the 3rd minute of the game.
Just six minutes later, Los Tuzos added to their lead in the 9th minute.

Edwin Cardona took a pass outside the box, dribbled between Ulises Rivas’ legs and took a right-footed shot that deflected of a Santos defender and found its way into the goal.

Santos was able to get on the board in the 30th minute via Julio Furch.
Brian Lozano headed a cross to Furch who took a quick shot past a diving Rodrigo Rey.

Furch again equalized the game via a penalty kick in the 65th minute. Furch crossed a right-footed shot to the right of Rey who dove in the opposite direction.

Santos blew an opportunity to jump back to the top of the table with this tie. Los Guerreros will hope for better luck when they visit a surging Atletico San Luis on Saturday the 21st. Los Tuzos will also look for a better result when they receive Los Xolos de Tijuana, also on Saturday.
