Toluca crushes San Luis at home 3-1
Los Diablos Rojos started the game strong on the attack, and sent out a warning shot within the first minute of play, but it didn’t cause any problems for the Potosino goalkeeper, Carlos Rodriguez.
Even though San Luis evened things out pretty quickly, taking possession of the ball after 10 minutes, Toluca had the first clear opportunity to score at minute 14 when Richard Ruiz’s left footed shot went out of bounds just off of the right post.
Just before going into the locker rooms and when the fans thought that they were going into the half with donuts on the scoreboard, the home team took the advantage on the last play of the half at minute 45. Felipe Pardo crossed a ball via corner kick and Jonathan Maidana put it in the net with a header that lifted La Perra Brava off their seats to scream the goal that they were waiting for anxiously.
For the second half Los Diablos continued with their dominance and approached Los Potosinos goal on multiple occasions. At minute 69 Alexis Canelo increased their advantage with an incredible escape from the midfield, leaving all the defenders behind and passing right through the goalkeeper for the 2-0.
Toluca didn’t slow down, they wanted more. At minute 78 Felipe Pardo gifted us with one of the best goals of week 11 of Liga MX. His right footed shot from the top of the 18th yard put the score 3-0.
A late reaction from San Luis came at minute 90 when Nicolas Ibañez scored the final goal of the night with a header.
Toluca reached 11 points and tied Chivas at 15th place. Los Diablos will face Veracruz on week 12th.
As for San Luis, they continue to drop in the rankings after losing their second consecutive game. After this game they drop to 12th place. They will go back home to host Xolos in week 12.
