Top 10 Goals in the Clasico Regio
Two teams in northern Mexico, from the state of Nuevo Leon, have been protagonists in recent years for their championships and blockbuster star signings. To give us an idea of their dominance, in the last 12 years Monterrey has won Liga MX 3 times and Tigres has won the league 5 times. In other words, of 24 possible champions in the last 12 years, a third of them have been from Monterrey.
In matchups between these two, the balance is in Tigres’ favor with 44 victories, 38 draws and 41 victories for “Rayados”.
The rivalry was popular in the state of Nuevo León, but popularity has recently spread throughout the national territory ever since the teams became top competitors in the league.
As we can see in the table above, Tigres has the advantage in domestic championships but if we review international championships, Monterrey has the lead with four Concachampions while Tigres only has one, recently won in 2020.
