TOP 5 LIGA MX PLAYERS SO FAR THIS GUARD1ANES 2021
Cruz Azul and America are league leaders, so its no surprise to see their players make our Top 5 Liga MX Players So Far list. However, outside of La Maquina and Las Aguilas, there are other players having tremendous runs this season. Our ranking presents the top 5 players who have had the best performances so far in the tournament. Of course, there will be extraordinary players who do not appear on the list, but we’re counting on you to let us know who we missed.
Without further ado, the best 5 players so far in Guard1anes 2021 are:
5. Sebastian Cordova – A key player of Solari’s America, he was sorely missed against Mazatlan. The Mexican midfielder distributes balls, is able to play in the left or right side of the pitch and finally, he scores. If his good game play keeps up, his transfer to Europe should be made soon.
- 4. Rubens Sambueza – While the skilled Argentine has been a protagonist over the last years in the league, it seemed that leaving America was a step back for him. However, this season he has shown that he still has it in him to be a positive factor wherever he plays . He dominates many aspects of the game such as dribbling and passing; so much so that he has provided 4 assists for Toluca so far, tieing for most in the league.
- 3. Matheus Doria – The brazilian defender, who came to the team to replace Nestor Araujo back in 2018, has consolidated himself as a key part of Santos defense. He has had an outstanding defensive performance, even scoring two goals for los Guerreros.
- 2. Jonathan Rodriguez – “Cabecita” Rodriguez has had some sort of participation in most goals scored by Cruz Azul. With 5 goals and 3 assists to his name, his influence since the last two tournaments, has been crucial for la Maquina.
- Luis Romo – It may come as no surprise that our choice for best player this season comes from the best team this season. Luis Romo has put on some of the best performance’s we´ve seen so far on the tournament, and it goes without saying, is a crucial player for Cruz Azul with 2 goals and 5 assists. Romo won LigaMX #EASports Player of the Month for February and it’s easy to see why. He dominates crucial aspects of the game for los cementeros, anticipating and recovering balls in the lower half of the field.
There is always some level of subjectivity in all rankings, but we can agree that the names mentioned are from great players with outstanding performances in Liga MX. That being said, let us know if we missed anyone!
