Wolves rescue a last-minute point vs Crystal Palace

Raul Jimenez and Wolverhampton continue to struggle in the English Premier League. The Wolves were, however, able to secure a point versus Crystal Palace with a last-minute goal by Diogo Jota.

Jimenez had played 76 minutes when head coach Nuno decided to bring in Patrick Cutrone to replace the Mexican striker. Despite playing a decent game and creating several goal opportunities, RJ9 failed to score for the third consecutive game. What’s more alarming is that the Wanderers have not earned a victory in the league through the first six games.

Crystal Palace took the lead early in the second half thanks to an own goal from Leander Dendoncker following a deflection. Wolverhampton pushed to get the tie, but the home team’s defense continued to stop any attack generated by Jimenez and the Wolves.

Despite being down a man after Romain Saïss received his second yellow card in the 73rd minute, Wolverhampton was able to eventually able to tie the game. Jota found himself at the right place, at the right time following an excellent cross that couldn’t be cleared by the Crystal Palace defense and crushed the ball into the back of the net.

Raul and Wolverhampton need a wake-up call. Maybe this last-minute goal would be the boost of confidence the team has been in search of as they look for their first Premier League victory.
