Wolves win their first EPL game of the season as Jimenez plays 79 minutes
Raul Jimenez and Wolverhampton won for the first time this season in the English Premier League. The Wolves were able to secure their first victory thanks to a goal by Matt Doherty in the 17th minute and an own goal by Daryl Janmaat in the second half.
Jimenez had played 79 minutes when head coach Nuno decided, for the second game in a row, to bring in Patrick Cutrone to replace the Mexican striker. Jimenez nearly scored early in the game, but his most apparent opportunity went just wide of the Watford goal.
The victory is a boost of confidence for Nuno and his squad. Raul, however, needs to get on the scoring track if he wants to remain among the players that the Portuguese coach counts on regularly. Nuno already left the Mexican player on the bench in the Wanderers last match.
Next week Wolverhampton has another 2-match week as they travel to Turkey to take on Besiktas. Then on Saturday, they will have one of their most difficult matches in the regular season as they visit Manchester City.
