Your ETO Weekend Watchlist!

As another weekend full of fútbol action kicks off in Liga MX and around the world, the editors at ETO know your fines de semana can get busy, so we’ve narrowed down which games to have on your radar and when and how to watch them. Here are our picks for our ETO Weekend Watchlist:

SATURDAY, MAY 28

El Tri

• Mexico vs Iceland, 6pmPST on TUDN : El Tri is finally back! They’ll have a busy summer, but first up is Iceland in Dallas, Texas. This friendly will kick off a summer full of action for the Mexican team so they’ll want to get off to a good start and of course Mexico fans will be hyped.

MLS

• LAFC vs NYCFC, 2:00pmPST on TUDN: LAFC and Carlos Vela will host a visiting NYCFC. The LA team will be looking to win their second straight while the east coast team will want to break a 3 game win-less streak.
• LA Galaxy vs San Jose Earthquakes, 4pmPST on TUDN: The most anticipated match of MLS Saturday, is this season’s first Cali Clasico. This time, with a very Mexican twist or rather, very Chivas twist. Javier Hernandez will try to extend his goal tally up against a host of ex-Chivas players in San Jose. Jonathan Dos Santos will also be available before he is shipped out for national team duty.
• Inter Miami vs DC United, 5pmPST on ESPN+: Inter has been average this season, unfortunately Rodolfo Pizarro less so. They’ll go up against an equally average DC United so this should be a good chance for him to get some quality minutes of play in his system.
• Sporting KC vs Houston Dynamo, 5:30pmPST on ESPN+: 2^nd place SKC will face off Houston Dynamo with Alan Pulido looking to also increase his goal tally. He’s currently tied for third place in score leaders, 3 goals behind leader Chicharito.

SUNDAY, MAY 23

Liga MX

• Cruz Azul vs Santos, 6:15pmPST on TUDN: For Cruz Azul this is it. The moment of truth. 24 years of agony culminates in one game. And with a 1-0 goal advantage, they will have two decades worth of pressure on them. 90 minutes separates them from glory, let’s see if La Maquina can pull it off. If anyone has come up with creative ways to lose, it’s them. Cruz Azul fans all over the world will hope this wont be case.
