LIGA MX APERTURA 2021 WEEK 4 GAME LINES AND PICKS

Another week of Liga MX is in the books, and if you needed any more proof of how unpredictable the league is, after three games, San Luis is in 2nd place followed by Mazatlán in 3rd. Yup, you read that right, Mazatlán has beaten Cruz Azul and Pachuca this season, and San Luis has taken out two of the Big 4 in UNAM and Chivas. I went 6-3 with my picks hitting on my upset of the week. With that being said, let’s take a look at the game lines for Week 4.

THE GAME LINES

These game lines are accurate as of 8/1/2021 @ 11:00am.

THE PICKS

SAN LUIS VS NECAXA

As I mentioned before, San Luis has been an early surprise this season. I have not picked them this season, but against a struggling Rayos squad who has been outscored 2-7, they seem like the team to go with. I’ll take San Luis @+135.

PUEBLA VS TIGRES

Tigres has had a rough start to the Piojo Herrera Era, and is coming off an embarrassing loss to Seattle in the Leagues Cup. Puebla is a shadow of the team they were last season and have not won so far this tournament. Based on squad depth alone, I’m taking Tigres @+155.

BRAVOS VS XOLOS

This game is interesting as it matches two managers who desperately need a victory. Bravos has shown improvement game over game under El Tuca. Siboldi on the other hand has struggled to get his ideas across with Xolos. I’m taking Juarez to get their first win under El Tuca, Bravos @+180.

PUMAS VS GALLOS

Gallos has been solid defensively allowing only two goals so far, but has struggled to generate much offense. It took Pumas three games to score their first goal of the season. I’m going with the home bias on this one and taking Pumas @+110.

LEON VS MAZATLAN

Leon has shaken off a week one thumping by Pachuca and has won its past three games, including handing out an asswhopping of their own against Sporting KC. Mazatlán has yet to taste defeat this season as is playing good futbol. In what should be the game of the week, I’m taking La Fiera @-180.

MONTERREY VS PACHUCA

Pachuca started off with a blast beating Leon 4-0 in its opening game, but has not won since, stringing two defeats in a row. Los Rayados have not lost this season, but are sorely missing their seleccionados. I’m taking Monterrey @-135.

ATLAS VS AMERICA

La Academia has not allowed a goal so far this season. For their part La Aguilas have only allowed one and have scored two goals in each of their last two games. With the return of America’s Olimpicos, this will be Atlas’ toughest test this season. My gut says America, but the stats say tie. I’m going with the draw @+210

SANTOS VS CHIVAS

Santos walked away from El Volcan with a point last week, while Chivas rescued one at home against Bravos. We will have to see if the return of an in-form Vega and Antuna will be enough to jolt El Rebano. I still have my doubts, give me La Comarca @+110.

UPSET OF THE WEEK

CRUZ AZUL VS TOLUCA

Like I stated last week, Toluca is getting no respect from the oddsmakers. They have won their first three games scoring eight and only giving up two goals La Maquina is on a steady incline going Loss, Draw and Win. I believe they will add another L after this week. Give me Los Diablos @+500.

MY PARLAY

For my parlay this week, I’m going to take the surprising San Luis@+135, Juarez @+180, and Toluca @+500. These three picks will give us a moneyline of +3848, with our traditional $100 wager, the payout will be $3948.00.
