LIGA MX GRITA MEXICO WEEK 2: ODDS, PICKS, AND PARLAY
Liga MX’s 2022 Apertura got off to a surprising start last week and I’m willing to bet no one had UNAM, Chivas, Pachuca, Cruz Azul and Juarez atop the table after one week. Now, without further ado, here’s my look at week two.
THE ODDS
THE MONEY LINES

FRIDAY:
QUERETARO VS UNAM
Even after walloping Toluca 5-0 in their opener, Pumas is only given a 38% chance of beating Gallos this week. That and a +160 moneyline is an easy way to double your money. GIve me Pumas.
NECAXA VS MONTERREY
Rayados are overwhelming favorites, 54% to win this game. That being said, their lackluster opener against Gallos has the oddsmakers giving them a positive line @+125. This may be the game to get a solid bank going, I’ll take Rayados.
SATURDAY:
ATLAS VS SAN LUIS
La Academia will start their title defense at home against a San Luis squad that got off to a bad start against Los Tuzos in Week 1. Again, odds are heavily in favor of Los Zorros at 57%. Not a lot of money to be made here as an individual game, but a good parlay pick.Give me Atlas @-150.
TIGRES VS PUEBLA
Similar to last season, Puebla is getting no respect as Tigres are 57% favored to win. Tigres will look to build off their last minute draw last game and the oddsmakers seem to think they will give them a line of @-130. I’ll take Tigres in this match, again, not a lot of money to be made, but good as part of a parlay.
CRUZ AZUL VS JUAREZ
Both Juarez and Cruz Azul are coming off good victories in Week 1. La Maquina is heavily favored in this match at 62%, and the money line for Bravos is a +475, meaning they think Cruz Azul should easily win this game. I am going in a different direction, however, I’m taking the draw @+295.
XOLOS VS LEON
Leon’s Finals rematch last week was postponed due and La Fiera will make their debut against a reeling Xolos squad that fell to La Maquina in their season debut. Even with the lack of action, Leon has a 39% chance of winning, and the oddsmakers have given them a positive line @+120. Good chance to double up with Los Panzas Verdes. I’ll take Leon to win this match.
SUNDAY:
TOLUCA VS SANTOS
Toluca got hammered at CU in their first match and will look to bounce back in their game against Santos. The numbers are heavily inclined for Los Guerreros with a winning probability of 45% and a +175 line. I don’t think Los Diablos will bounce back that quickly, give me Santos.
PACHUCA VS CHIVAS
Chivas was atop Liga MX for a brief moment last week and all Chivahermanos are already freaking out. Los Tuzos had a solid victory against a San Luis squad many have pegged as a dark horse this season. I don’t believe the Chivas hype just yet, and neither do the numbers, heavily favoring Pachuca with a 45% chance of winning. With a positive money line either way, I’m going with Los Tuzos @+110.
