LIGA MX GRITA MEXICO’21 WEEK 5 BETTING GUIDE: PART I

Another wild week in the ever unpredictable Liga MX has passed and the top of the Tabla General looks very different. America is now at the top of the mountain and Leon, Monterrey, and the defending Champs all moved up. Now teams have to have a quick turnaround as the first doble jornada is upon us. Here is part one of this week’s game lines, picks and parlays.

THE GAME LINES

These game lines are up to date as of 8/16/2021 @ noon.

THE PICKS

TOLUCA VS MAZATLAN

This game matches two teams that were riding high and got knocked down hard last round. Toluca lost 4-0 to the defending champs, while Mazatlán was dismantled by Leon. Both losses had odd circumstances though, Mazatlán played in a puddle after heavy rains, and Toluca lost their starting keeper and went down 2-0 on a controversial play. With that being said, I’m not ready to give up on Toluca yet, give me Los Diablos at home @-130.

TIGRES VS GALLOS

Tigres has not had a great start to the Piojo Era to say the least and have had a red card in their last three Liga MX matches. They had to play catch up to save a draw at Puebla last week and may have lost Gignac for an extended period of time. Gallos has not fully clicked offensively having only scored one goal in four games. I’m taking Piojo’s men to get a much needed win at home, Tigres @-165.

NECAXA VS PUMAS

Necaxa shocked Liga MX by beating a hot San Luis team away last round. Pumas was unable to keep the winning momentum going after eliminating NYCFC midweek and struggled in a 0-0 draw at home to Gallos. I look for Necaxa to win their second in a row, give me Los Rayos @+115.

XOLOS VS PUEBLA

These two teams are looking for their first win of the season. Xolos was unable to hold onto an early lead at Juarez and had to settle for a draw and their first point of the season. Similarly, Puebla was also unable to hold off Tigres and settled for a draw as well. Both teams have struggled to score this season, and have not shown what was expected of them. Still I’m going with Xolos to get their first win of the season. Give me Tijuana @+125.

MY PARLAY

For this first batch of games, I’m going with all home teams in a four game parlay. My total money line for these four games is +1274, that means the payout on our $100 wager will be $1374.57.
